　　Communication between organelles and the nucleus is essential for fitness and survival.Retrograde signals are cues emitted from the organelles to regulate nuclear gene expression. Here I will present the function of GENOMESUNCOUPLED 1 (GUN1) in the  regulation of protein import, thus on chloroplast retrograde signaling and proteostasis.
